Story
- You are Solid Drake, an elite special operative trapped behind enemy lines and surrounded by enemy hunters.
- Survive waves of enemies while waiting for extraction.
- Avoid getting spotted by lights and dodge enemy bullets
- Gain experience and level up to help you survive, but be careful – enemy soldiers are adapting as you grow, gaining experience and learning to hunt you more effectively!
How to Play
Avoid Lights // Dodge Enemies Bullets
- You take damage by standing in light (from rotating Sun in the day, and from Enemies' torches at night)
- You also take damage from Enemies' bullets
'Shoot Enemies' or 'Takedown from Behind'
Neutralize enemies by either:
- Shooting them with your gun.
- Requires Ammo. Reload with 'R'.
- But note: you can't move while reloading.
- Takedown from Behind
- Available when you are behind enemies (a marker will show up).
- Hold down LMB to neutralize them. Doing so will regain your HP and Ammo.
- But note: Nearby Enemies will be alerted to the struggling and advance towards you.
Enemies' Behavior
- In day, enemies track you and will fire upon you if they have line-of-sight. The Sun is not your friend here. Stepping into light will burn you and give additional speed to enemies.
- At night, enemies can't see you unless you step into their torches range. But if you do, they will pursue you with increased vigor.
Level up and Select Upgrades
- When you gain enough EXP, you level up and get to select an upgrade.
- But the Enemy forces also gain EXP and become more effective at hunting you.

This is it... the greatest Metal Gear tribute of all time. Sneaking around while dodging light was fun and the sneak attack felt very satisfying! I loved the callback to Double-Edged Dungeon with the upgrade system :D The sprites and animations are delightfully cartoony and look straight out of one of the old Mega Man games. Those dynamic music changes are a great touch!! I especially love the intense beat that plays when you get caught in the light xD
Truly, quacktical espionage at its finest! Congrats on the placement, you guys!!

Thank you for playing and seeing the game through to the end! Heh it was fortuitous to have the wildcard be "curses" so we could bring back the concept from DED.
@junkgolem killed it with the art as usual, and we had a new friend @scratchy_sd that made the banger tracks :D

That's epic!! Yeah haha, this was the first GWJ I've missed since I started in January and I feel all itchy 🤣 But alas, I must stay self-disciplined!! I've been trying my first attempt at a larger-ish project for the Safe In Our World game jam that ends in October, but hopefully I can finish that early so I can get back to joining GWJ soon! I'll definitely still be dropping by to say hey though, you guys's games are always a treat 😎👍
